Description
A high-protein, creamy breakfast shake made with frozen bananas, peanut butter, and vanilla protein powder. Ready in just 5 minutes, this shake is thick, satisfying, and perfect for busy mornings or post-workout recovery.
Ingredients
- 1 large frozen banana, peeled and sliced (about 120g)
- 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter (32g)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (30g)
- 1 cup milk (almond, cow’s, or oat milk) (240ml)
- ½ cup ice (about 50g)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional) (5ml)
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Prep the frozen banana by taking it out of the freezer and breaking it into smaller chunks for easier blending.
- Add the milk to the blender first to help the blades spin freely.
- Add the protein powder, peanut butter, cinnamon, and honey (if using) to the blender.
- Toss in the frozen banana chunks and ice.
- Blend on low speed initially to break up the ice and frozen fruit, then gradually increase to high speed.
- Blend for 30-60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy with no chunks.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more honey or milk/ice as needed.
- Pour immediately into a glass and serve fresh.
Notes
For the best texture, use frozen bananas rather than fresh ones. If your blender is weak, let the frozen banana sit out for 5 minutes before blending. Clean the blender immediately after use by filling it with warm water and a drop of dish soap, then blending for 10 seconds. This shake is best made fresh as it separates over time.
