Fudgy Game Day Football Brownies with Chocolate Fudge Laces

  • Author: Lara
  • Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

These fudgy brownies use a simple three-ingredient base for a dense, rich texture, topped with white chocolate laces piped to resemble a football field. Perfect for game day parties and easy enough to make while watching the game.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15-18 oz) fudgy brownie mix
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup (85 g) white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon (14 g) shortening
  • Non-stick cooking spray or butter for greasing pan
  • Mini marshmallows (optional, for grass effect)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 13×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides, and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Stir with a silicone spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  4. Remove from oven and let cool completely on a wire rack (about 1 hour). Do not add laces while hot.
  5. While brownies cool, melt white chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between intervals until smooth.
  6. Transfer melted chocolate to a Ziploc bag and cut off a tiny corner to create a small opening.
  7. Pipe long parallel lines down the center of the brownies, then add shorter lines across the top and bottom to mimic hash marks. Add circles for laces if desired.
  8. Let the laces set for 15 minutes at room temperature (or 5 minutes in the fridge).
  9. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter to maintain a fudgy texture. Ensure brownies are completely cool before piping laces to prevent melting. Shortening helps the white chocolate laces stay white and crisp. Brownies taste better the next day as moisture redistributes.
