Description
A refreshing, homemade electrolyte drink made with fresh citrus juices, coconut water, and a touch of honey. It provides natural hydration without artificial ingredients, making it perfect for hot days, workouts, or summer gatherings.
Ingredients
- 4 large oranges (yielding approx. 2 cups fresh juice)
- 2 medium lemons (yielding approx. ½ cup fresh juice)
- 1 large lime (yielding approx. 1–2 tbsp fresh juice)
- ¼ teaspoon Himalayan pink salt (or sea salt)
- 3–4 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
- 1 cup coconut water
- Ice cubes
- 1 small bunch fresh mint leaves
- Orange slices for garnish
Instructions
- Wash the oranges, lemons, and limes thoroughly. Cut the oranges in half and juice them to yield about 2 cups of fresh juice. Repeat with lemons and limes.
- Place the fresh mint leaves in the bottom of a 2-quart pitcher. Gently muddle the leaves with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release the oils without shredding them.
- Pour the fresh orange, lemon, and lime juices into the pitcher over the mint. Add the coconut water and stir gently to combine.
- Add the honey and pink salt. If the honey is thick, microwave it for 10 seconds to make it runnier. Stir vigorously until the honey and salt are completely dissolved.
- Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed by adding more honey or lemon juice.
- Add a generous amount of ice to the pitcher and stir to chill. Let the drink sit for 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Pour into glasses filled with fresh ice. Garnish with orange slices and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately.
