Keto Cinnamon Apple Dessert Cups: 5-Min Easy Low Carb

  • Author: Lara
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick, low-carb dessert featuring warm, spiced apples topped with a creamy, high-protein cottage cheese and cream cheese mixture. Ready in just 10 minutes with no baking required.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium Granny Smith apples (about 300g), peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter or coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 23 tablespoons keto sweetener (erythritol or monk fruit)
  • 1 cup (225g) full-fat cottage cheese
  • 4 ounces (115g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 tablespoons heavy cream or milk (optional, for consistency)
  • Optional toppings: crushed pecans, extra cinnamon, sugar-free caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice apples into ½-inch chunks. Toss with butter, cinnamon, and sweetener until coated.
  2. Cook apples in a saucepan over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until tender but not mushy. Alternatively, microwave in a covered bowl for 2-3 minutes, stirring halfway.
  3. Divide warm apple mixture evenly among small microwave-safe bowls or ramekins.
  4. In a separate bowl or food processor, blend softened cream cheese, cottage cheese, vanilla extract, and heavy cream (if using) until completely smooth.
  5. Spread the creamy topping over the warm apples in each bowl.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to allow flavors to meld and topping to set.
  7. Serve with optional toppings like crushed nuts or extra cinnamon.

Notes

Blend cottage cheese until completely smooth to avoid lumps. Use full-fat dairy for best texture. Apples should be tender but not mushy to prevent watery topping. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 4 days. Do not freeze as texture may suffer.
