Description
A warm, bubbly, and naturally gluten-free dip that tastes like pizza without the dough. Perfect for accommodating guests with celiac disease or keto diets while keeping game day stress-free.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup pepperoni slices, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, garlic powder, and half of the Italian seasoning. Mix until smooth.
- Spread the ricotta mixture evenly into the bottom of a small casserole dish (approx. 6-inch round).
- Spoon the marinara sauce over the ricotta layer.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Scatter the chopped pepperoni on top.
- Bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and edges are bubbling.
- Optional: Broil for 1-2 minutes for a golden top, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes to allow cheese to set.
- Sprinkle remaining Italian seasoning on top and serve warm.
Notes
For best texture, shred mozzarella from a block rather than using pre-shredded cheese. Frying pepperoni before adding adds crispiness. Do not freeze this dip as the dairy will separate. If ricotta is watery, drain it in a cheesecloth for 10 minutes before use.
