Description
A crisp, effervescent summer cocktail that swaps heavy ginger beer for a lighter mix of ginger liqueur, fresh lime, and dry sparkling wine. It’s ready in 5 minutes and offers a sophisticated yet approachable refreshment.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ounces (60ml) Vodka
- 1 ounce (30ml) Ginger Liqueur
- 1 ounce (30ml) Fresh Lime Juice
- 2–3 ounces (60-90ml) Dry Sparkling Wine (Champagne, Prosecco, or Cava)
- 1–2 ounces (30-60ml) Ginger Beer
- Ice (large cubes preferred)
- Garnish: Lime wheel, fresh mint sprig, slice of ginger root
Instructions
- Prep garnishes by cutting lime wheels, slicing ginger root, and rinsing mint.
- Chill glasses or mugs in the freezer for at least 10 minutes before serving.
- In the chilled glass, add vodka, ginger liqueur, and fresh lime juice. Stir gently with a bar spoon to combine.
- Fill the glass to the top with ice.
- Pour in the ginger beer, filling the glass about 3/4 full.
- Slowly top with sparkling wine, pouring over the back of a spoon to preserve bubbles.
- Garnish with a lime wheel, mint sprig, and ginger slice. Give a gentle stir and serve immediately.
Notes
Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor. Avoid over-stirring after adding sparkling wine to maintain effervescence. The base mixture (vodka, ginger liqueur, lime juice) can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days; add ice and sparkling wine just before serving.
